Sun is the biggest star in our milky way and it's the closest star to us.

Sun is classified as a star because

1. A star has its own light and heat and sun has its own light, Unlike moon or earth sun doesn't need any other source of light to shine.

2.Stars are also bigger in size than any planet and Sun is the biggest in our solar system.

3. Sun is considered as a star due to its temperature and chemical composition.
