Carpet is mostly air and air is a bad conductor of heat.....Conversely, wood or tile or metal is able to remove heat from your foot very easily, and so it feels colder. Now you know why sitting on that porcelain toilet seat in the morning feels cold and why wearing socks works so well at insulating your feet.

hi my dear friend. this is sai nivas. I am going to answer your question.
generally , when we touch the tiles , we feel very cold.
there is science behind that.
whenever we observe the tiles it is very smooth and cool .
the reason behind it is , human body temperature is 37.2 degrees.
tiles has less than the temperature than a human has.
as we know that heat transfer from high temperature to low temperature , same like that heat transfer from our body to tiles whereas tiles gives cold to us.
that's why I feel very cold when we touch tiles.
