why do we need to conserve water despite its being a renewable resource ?

Even though water is renewable it's availability in countries like india is scarce and the availability of drinking water is even low, The water found in water bodies is salty and hence cannot be used as the main source and thus we must relay of river, pond and lakes water... Even if You wish to use sea water the process to make it usable would be unaffordable. Since the only source you can get water from i.e. River, Lake, etc... You need to conserve water because the lakes, rivers may run dry anytime which is mostly during summer!

because water will get renewed when proper rainfall will happen and the rain water is used in a proper way but deforestation is happening day by day that creates imbalance in the ecosystem and does not maintain rainfall.
