This may seem like a very silly question to ask due to it being obvious. However, thank you for asking this question because it has a proper logical explanation.

Basically what happens is that when a banana peel is dropped the floor. It tends to make the surface smooth, so the friction between our feet and ground decreases. Fluid friction is the force of friction exerted by fluids on objects moving through them. And when that decreases it leads us to slipping, causing us to fall when we step on a banana peel.

Question:

Why do we slip when we step on a banana peel?

Answer:

This question may seem stupid but indeed many people may fail to answer it but I will try my best.

When a banana peel falls on the ground then it makes the surface smooth leading to reduction of friction between the floor and our feet. Since, we are able to walk because of friction so in the presence of less friction we slip and fall down.

In simple words, the banana reduces friction between the floor and our feet and due to this we fall down so it is advised to not throw banana peels on ground as many may fall due to it and get hurt.

Thanking You!
