why do we subtract initialvelocity from final velocity and not final velocity from initial velocity​

Answer:

A/C to the average velocity equation

v=vi+vf/2

A/c to the above equation vi+vf is equal to additional velocity so it is clear that vi is greater than vf so we can subtrarct vi from vf

this is my answer & some other reasons of this question is possible
