Why do you see green when you look at a leave off a tree?

We see green leaves of tree because of the presence of Small pigments called 'Chlorophyll'. Actually, Chlorophyll traps sunlight and convert it into chemical energy by the process of Photosynthesis. Many time we see different colors on the leaves, Actually those leaves have also Chlorophyll but in small quantity. Chloroplasts are also called as Chlorophyll. This is a plastids.
