Why do you think Mahatma Gandhi decided to speak in hindi as a matter of principle

This is because Hindi is our national language as well as our mother tongue and every person will understand easily Hindi. Every country gives more importance to their own language and culture and so, even our leader Mahatma Gandhi opted for his own country language.
