why do you think that the role of appendix in our body is unknown..

the appendix has no role to play in the human body but it plays an actve role in the body of the herbivorus animals the appendix of those animals contains some bacteria which helps in the digestion of cellulose

role of appendix is not unknown......but is have no function in our body.
appendix helps in cellulose digestion. so mainly herbivorous have a large appendix to digest cellulose. in human body it is present because our ancestors were fully depended on nature and eat cellulose contain items after that they started eating meat. but now a days as we don't need to eat cellulose contain food we don't need appendix.
