The framers of our constitution actually rejected the idea of dual citizenship since the first Article of the constitution of Article 1 states that India is actually an Union of states rather than being a federation of the states.
Mostly because of this it can be said that the citizens of India cannot be allowed to have dual citizenship even if they wanted to.
