why doe the Bishop leave his doors and windows open

Since he was a devout Christian who followed Christ's teachings meticulously and passionately, his chief motive of life was to help others. So he left the doors and windows of his house open in case anyone might need any help or shelter, he could come into his home and be fed or sheltered.
