Why does a rocket go upwards inspite of the earth's gravitational pull

At an every action there is equal and opposite reaction....it is Newton third law of motion.....
when the escaping gas exerts a force on ground it exerts an equal force too
there is another concept for it which is as follows.... initial momentum. equals to final momentum due to law of conservation of linear momentum on an isolated system...as escaping gas is coming out rocket increases its speed due to the conservation of momentum.......
So a time will come when Rocket achieves the escaping speed and leaves the earth gravitational field....
