there is low pressure in the Indian ocean.this causes winds to blow from the GANGA region southwards.due to this depression which is in the Indian ocean,the winds blow towards southern India near the Andaman and Nicobar islands where some winds manage to reach the Eastern coast of India(coromandel coast) and hence this coast gets the bulk of rainfall from the retreating monsoon
