Why does dinitrogen react with lithium metal?

Dinitrogen and lithium react to form Li₃N (Lithium Nitride). This is because lithium shows diagonal relationship with Mg and reacts just like Mg. In this way , lithium also shows anomalous behaviour from other metals of Group 1
