- As we go down a group the number of e- increases by +2,+8,+8,+18,+18,+32,+32 and the number of shells increases with +1 and valency remains the same.
- As we go across a period the number of shells remain the same and the number of e- increases with +1.
- Period number = number of shells of an atoms
- Group number => if valence e- = 1 or 2 then group number = 1 o 2 n respectively
=>if valence e- = 3to8 then group number = valence e-+ 10
