Why does leguminous plants do not require nitrogenous fertilizers?

 because the nitrogen fixing bacteria reside in the root nodules of theleguminous plants. These bacteria convert atmospheric nitrogen into solublenitrogenous compounds.

Leguminous plants do not require nitrogenous fertilizers...

Because, the leguminous plants fulfill it's nitrogenous requirements by the presence of Nitrogen fixing bacteria like Rhizobium by symbiotic relationship....

The bacteria present in the root nodules converts the atmospheric nitrogen into nitrites and nitrates make it available for plants...

Hence , the leguminous plants do not require nitrogenous fertilizers...

Examples for leguminous plants : Groundnut , soya bean...etc...
