Why does rain water have pH less than 7 ?

The oxides of sulphur and nitrogen mixes with air and then in contact of water becomes sulphiric and nitric acid which make the rain acidic. Since acid has PH less than 7 rain water also has PH less than 7

liquids with ph less than 7 are acids and liquids with oh greater than 7 are alkaline (basic)
