Since he lost his parents ,he no longer sought pleasure out of the attractive things which tempted him earlier. He only wanted his parents.

the child lose interest in the things he had wanted earlier because now he is sad as he had lost his parents. Before getting anything of his choice like sweets, flowers, balloons, joy rides and musics ,he wanted to reunite with his mother and father.
