New born baby Cuckoos need a lot of protein to grow well. As Cuckoo itself does not eat non-vegetarian food, it leaves its eggs in the nests of other birds like crows. As the egg shell is thick and strong it does not break when it is dropped from a small height into the nests of other birds.
