why does the ice float on water while it sinks in alcohol...?

kati22: The specific gravity of ice is less than that of water but the same is more than that of alcohol, hence ice floats on water but sinks in alcohol...you did well

Bcus the density of ice is higher at least for ethanol being less dense ice float on water while in alcohol ice will sink.
