Insectivorous plants are green in colour but they catch the insects.
This is because they need nitrogen for the protein synthesis.
The protein are responsible for preparation of food.
As it cannot have the ability to absorb nitrogen through any ways so only it trap insects for nitrogen.

The insectivorous plants catch and eat insects even thou they are green in colour and can do with photosynthesis bcoz they need nitrogen for the synthesis of proteins. They catch the insects only to get nitrogen.
