The left ventricular wall is thicker so it can generate sufficient pressure to pump blood throughout the body EXCEPT blood to the lungs. The right ventricular wall is thinner because it doesn't need to pump blood in high pressure. It just pumps blood to the lungs to be oxygenated then it goes to the left ventricle.

As the aorta has to take blood to organs which are located far away from the heart, the left ventricle is thicker.
Explanation:
- The left ventricle possess "thicker wall" when compared to the right ventricle. It is three times thicker when compared to the right one.
- The normal functioning of ventricles is that it has to pump out the blood with force away from the heart.
- The right ventricle pumps it to pulmonary artery whereas the left one pumps it to aorta.
