Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG[a]) is the process of recording the electrical activity of the heart[4] over a period of time using electrodes placed over the skin. These electrodes detect the tiny electrical changes on the skin that arise from the heart muscle's electrophysiologic pattern of depolarizing and repolarizing during each heartbeat. It is very commonly performed to detect any cardiac problems.

To perfectly detect the disease in our body ,the doctors examine different physical aspects of our body including the heartbeat.

And the heartbeat is measured by an electronic device which is known as the Electrocardiogram or the ECG.

The Electrocardiogram device can produce the graphical representation of our heartbeat which doctors examine to get a brief detail about the condition of our heart.
