Why does the medium become acidic in mouth . What is the ill effect of this acidic medium . How does it be prevented

Our mouth contains saliva also known as salivary amylase which is a preventer of cavity or tooth decay. Saliva is actually a base. When we eat something the food decomposes into sugar along with numerous other things which results in dental cavity which is harmful or the ill effect. It can mainly be prevented by using toothpaste as it neutralizes the acid formed in the mouth.

Mouth level is below the PH level of 5.5 so it became hydrocholoric acid
