The poet decided to stand and wait till the snake has finished drinking because the snake was the first to come at the water trough and the poet felt honored that the snake as his guest had come to quench his thirst at his water trough.

POET DID NOT WANTED TO DISTURB HIS HONORED GUEST AND BEING SECOND COMER HE WAITER UNTIL SNAKE FINISHED DRINKING WATER
