Why does the sky appear blue?

sky appear blue because of presence of O2and N2 molecules in atmosphere.

Ayv3: my doubt is violet ray scatters more than blue so y don't the sky appear violet but blue

sky appears to be blue because it reflects the colour of sea,ocean etc....
just like a mirror reflects image infront of it.there r also o2 abd N2 molecules present in it.
