Why does the sodium become transparent after burning?

Because it react with oxygen and form sodium oxide it forms gas Compound.

the sodium becomes transparent after burning because when it reacts with oxygen it makes the sodium oxide which is the gas compounds so it becomes transparent as we know the gas is also transparent...so that's why the sodium becomes transparent after burning ...
