Why does the value of ‘g’ change along the surface of the earth ?​

g is gravitational acceleration. So, more the distance from the centre of mass, less will be the acceleration due to gravity. Since each point on Earth is at a different distance from its centre, the value of g varies, decreasing at the equator and increasing at the poles
