A petri dish provides more surface area for evaporation of water than a test tube. Rate of evaporation is directly proportional to surface area.

Water evaporates faster in a Petri dish than in a test tube becauce evaporation means surface phenomena and because in the Petri dish the water is spread whereas in the test tube it is not.and evaporation takes place faster when the water is spread.
