Lizards show ability to cling on to surfaces or scuttle across ceilings and walls without falling.

Researchers examined a tiny hair that cover the lizard’s toes, and found a microscopic hair split up into even tinier pads called spatulae. These spatulae are incredibly minute (each is about a lakh times smaller than an inch). These spatulae or adhesive pads are so so effective that a lizard can swing from the ceiling by one toe.

Lizard while running on walls uncurl their toes as they take each step. And when they take their feet off the wall they simply reverse this proces. The tiny hair on the toes rolls out to stick to the surface, as the lizard walks, and then peels off as the lizard lifts its toes. The toe of the lizard do not uses any kind of adhesive material such as glue or liquid to cling on. The hair on lizard's toe is a dry adhesive
