why does water get cold in an earthen pot

the earthen pot has pores which allows the heat of molecules of water which were produced due to kinetic energy to escape as a result in the end very less energy is left which initiates cooling down of water

Water looses its temperature through small pores present in the pot. Hence in an earthen pot (matka) become cool during summer.
