Why does water in the fountain experiment running to clarksville with hcl gas?

The HCl gas present inside the flask dissolves in water due to its high solubility. It creates a low pressure inside the flask. But the pressure out side the flask being higher, pushes the blue litmus solution inside the flask with a great force and form a fountain.
