why don't we see sound waves ?

Hey there!!
Thing is we even don't see the light waves do we??What we see is just the reflection that they are carrying with them.And light wave is transversal whereas sound wave is longitudinal.
We never do literally see any waves (i think so).So how can we see sound waves??Just like we see light wave by dust (in a ray entering in to your room),we can also see sound waves (not actually)by their movement which we call vibration.Ex-take a bucket of water and hammer it.Did you see something wavy hmm?Yeah that is the sound wave!!
