Epidermis a very important for plants. it plays a vital role in the protection of the plants or trees.
the plants are in a fixed place and position. they can't move anywhere. so the plants are exposed to rain, water, wind, sunlight, and also storms, etc. so the epidermis is the outermost layer in the plants. the epidermis functions as a protective layer in plants and, protects the plant from the direct exposure.so that the plant doesn't get easily damaged by the above mentioned calamities.
