Why Flourine shows one oxidation state​

Fluorine is one electron deficient to attain noble gas configuration. If it gains one electron it attains stability & it is more electronegative element.by gaining 1 electron it is showing -1 oxidation state. In fluorine due to the absence of d-orbital it can't excite electrons.
