Explanation:

Gandhiji learnt the law in England and returned back to India to practice it but a few failed attempts discouraged him. Though he continued his practice in Gujarat, he was not confident of practicing in Bombay (now Mumbai).

He was suggested to work on a case as a supporting barrister for Seth Abdullah in South Africa to gain some exposure and also practice the law simultaneously. There he gained such confidence by winning the case not only in favour of seth Abdullah but also winning the hearts of his counterparts by striking a deal which favoured both parties.

Gandhi staunchly opposed racism and led many protests against apartheid. According to the Nobel Peace Prize winner Nelson Mandela, Gandhi and his colleagues served and helped Africans by opposing racism.
