Fossils are remnants of pre-historic organisms, which include plants and animals. The age of fossils is determined using Geological Time Scale or by Carbon Dating techniques.

Geological Time Scale (GTS) is a system of chronological dating, that relates geological strata – known as stratigraphy, to time. Earth scientists, palaeontologists and geologists use GTS to arrive at timing and relationships of events, that had taken place in Earth’s history.
