Why had the Indian Government put barriers to foreign trade and foreign investment after independence? State any one reason. [Delhi 2015]

This was so because just after independence India was not capable of competing with other foreign countries. India decided to put trade barriers in order to resist Thier power.They thought when they will be enough capable to compete at international level then they will remove trade barriers
