why has natural selection not eliminates sickle cell anaemia​

Sickle cell anaemia provides natural immunity against malarial parasite plasmodium.

Due to the sickel cells of RBCs, plasmodium species are unable to thrive in the patients and hence this acts as a natural immunity against the disease.

Hence nature has not eliminated sickle cell anaemia.
