You're correct. In some answers we can see a green mark, it will be verified/approved.

These are answers which contain trustworthy information and can be reliable. Verified answers mostly contain correct and well explained content. that is, if your answer have been approved, it means, it is a perfect answer! It contain no errors, possibly the best answer!

What's the benefit of an Answer being approved?

A verified answer can be trusted upon and we can be sure that it contain correct information.

Verified answers cant be deleted or reported (it can be in some cases)

Approving answers can only be done by Moderators! (Note that no apprentice or Ninja moderators can approve answers)

Now-a-days, approving privileges has been taken back from moderators except leaders, admimistrators and Samaritans! It will be given back when moderations are less!

So, verified answers are an Answer which is, to the question and perfect one!
