Inferior metals are weak and susceptible to weather harsh conditions, they wear and tear early, superior metals on the other hand are strong and can survive harsh weather conditions, due to the above qualities of the two given metals, inferior metals are coated with superior metals to prevent them from hash conditions and make them last longer.
