Why is a bulb covered with a glass

bcoz the filament in the bulb in the presence of oxygen can be burned so is covered with a glass

An incandescent light bulb contains a thin wire filament (usually tungsten) that glows hot when an electric current is running through it. in the presence of oxygen the filament main broken up as a result of high temperature. So, a glass keep the filament away from oxygen and prevent it from Breaking.
