why is air not visible for naked eyes?

The air is invisible, because its molecules don't absorb the visiblelight. ... One of the reasons why the eyes became sensitive in the "visible" spectrum is that air does not absorb there. Otherwise theeyes would be useless: you would not see anything but air.
