Why is Chennai rainless during South West monsoon season?

because Chennai is near mountainside so they'll be no rain and heat will be more

Bcoz Chennai gets its highest rainfall in the months of October and November which is the period of 'Retreating South-West Monsoon' nd
South West moonsoon comes in the period of June to September.
