• Reason: Release of CFC gases from refrigerators and air conditioners accumulate in the atmosphere, and cause a chain of reactions, due to which ozone is converted into normal gaseous oxygen, hence reducing its concentration
• Concern: Lack of ozone leads to harmful UV radiation to reach the earth's surface, leading to excessive heating up of earth's surface and oceans i.e, Global Warming, and the UV rays cause many skin diseases in humans such as Melanoma.
• Steps: We must limit our usage of refrigerators and ACs unless absolutely necessary, and try to innovate and invent new technology which will reduce CFC emissions into the atmosphere.
