Planet Earth has been called the "Blue Planet" due to the abundant water on its surface. Here on Earth, we take liquid water for granted; after all, our bodies are mostly made of water. However, liquid water is a rare commodity in our solar system.

"The earth is called the "blue planet" as the 70 percent of earth's surface is covered with water.
In more simple words, earth is the only planet which has an abundance of water. By seeing from the space, it looks like that the earth planet is painted with blue colour.
Due to the earth's temperature, water exists in its true form. The formation of Earth is very old and it is assumed that around 4.5 billion years ago the planet is formed and is fourth largest station planet in the "solar system"."
