this is because sun is the center of our universe .It attracts all the nine planets of our solar system,for this reason they revolved round the sun in a definite path.Earh is one of the nine planets of our solar system so it also revolves round the sun.

We revolve around the sun because of its gravitational force. Sun has much much greater gravitational force than earth, so the earth revolves around the sun.

Note : Earth doesn't ROTATE around the sun ; it REVOLVES around the sun. There is difference b/w rotation and revolution
