Shiva Fixed Elephant Head To His Son. After creating Ganesha from sandalwood, Parvati posted Ganesha on guard duty at the door. ... After a while, Shiva came home. Even after telling him that he is the husband of Parvati, Ganesha didn't allow him to enter inside.

it is a myth Believe people by people that one day when Ganesha was guarding the home outside when Parvati was bathing inside...At the time Lord Shiva came and asked to Ganesha to move from the main entrance Ganesha refused to do so and hence Shiva cut Ganesha’s head..Shiva didn’t knew that Ganesha was the son of Parvati..But when Parvathi return she was very angry with Shiva and hence Shiva asked his Nandi to get the head of a person animal or anything and then we got a head of elephant so Shiva fixed elephants head on Ganesha and made him alive again...

Hope it helps
