why is germination of a plant called as a chemical change

Germination of a plant is known as a chemical  change because  plants use water nutrients , carbon dioxide and sunlight to produce oxygen and starch . Hence new substances are formed and thus it is called chemical change.

germination is a chemical change because during this process one substance reacts with another to undergo a change in chemical composition .chemical changes brings change in the chemical properties of the plant and we get a new substance that a shoot
