it advised not to leave Apple at open after cutting it because many bacteria live in our homes by the undigested materials like polluted air and wear anything to any virus and bacteria are come down in the apple and after eating in our body the digestion is not completed by for this bacteria and we having loose motions and maybe food poisoning

because if you leave that then after some time it will become black and will contain many types of microorganisms in it.
