Why is it advised to put strips of ice cold wet cloth on forehead of a person having high fever?

The doctors advice us to put strips of ice cold wet cloth on our forehead during high fever because the ice at once stage started vaparizing ,as it vaporises it absorbs some heat energy from our forehead and vaporises as a result leaving behind the forehead cool. If we do rhis the temperature would decrease.

When a person has fever his body temperature becomes more than the normal body temperature. If we put strips of wet cloth on the forehead of a person suffering from high fever, the water evaporates taking heat from the body, creating a cooling effect. Thus, moist strips will lower his body temperature.
